GASTRIC BALLOON

Gastric Balloon Insertion

For a less invasive, non-surgical, short-term option, the insertion of a gastric balloon into the stomach could be the answer.

A deflated gastric balloon is inserted into the stomach through the mouth and throat. Once inflated the balloon fills part of the stomach leaving a reduced space creating a smaller appetite. Feeling full more quickly means smaller food portions and helps with long-term weight loss.

This temporary procedure helps patients on their journey to a healthier lifestyle and can be performed quickly enabling the patient to return home the same day. Eating habits formed while the gastric balloon is in place should be continued after it is removed.
