Very common, safe outpatient procedure carried out under throat spray or small dose of sedation to investigate symptoms of heartburn, nausea, vomiting, difficulty swallowing (dysphagia). This procedure is also useful to treat bleeding areas, narrowings and also to relieve blockages caused by cancers (stretching, stent insertion etc).
