The Medical College in Trivandrum, Kerala, India is th oldest in the state established in 1952 and one of the most prestigious in south India
In February 2019 the institution awarded the ‘Distinguished Alumnus Award” to 10 former graduates including me.

The citation as shown below reads ‘in grateful appreciation for the leadership and outstanding service to the alma mater, Trivandrum Medical College and for the contributions to the society at large”.

The award was handed over by Retired Justice P Sathasivam, Honourable Governor of Kerala and Retired Chief Justice of India in the presence of Mrs KK Shailaja Teacher, Honourable Minister for Health, Government of Kerala.

Mr Vinod Menon also delivered a key note lecture on recent concepts in Trauma & Emergency care and also participated in a symposium on career prospects of junior doctors.
